Ziyech becomes the first Chelsea player since Costa to score in his first two starts for the Blues.

27-year-old Ziyech scored against Krasnodar in the Champions League on Wednesday and added another goal on Saturday against Burnley. This achievement makes him the first Chelsea player since Diego Costa in 2014 to score in his first two starts for the club across all competitions.

Ziyech, a Morocco international, opened the scoring against Burnley in the 26th minute, assisted by Tammy Abraham. This goal followed his strike against Krasnodar, where he scored in the 79th minute, contributing to Chelsea's 4-0 victory.

These two goals put Ziyech on par with Costa's record when he joined Chelsea. Ziyech will aim to replicate Costa's successful debut season, where Chelsea won the Premier League title in 2014-15.

Despite a slow start due to a knee injury sustained in pre-season, Ziyech made a promising debut for Chelsea against Southampton on October 17. Chelsea manager Frank Lampard praised Ziyech's personality and confidence, highlighting his positive impact on the team since joining from Ajax for £37 million ($48m). Lampard commended Ziyech's work ethic, resilience during injury rehabilitation, and his seamless integration into the squad.
